There are cities throughout this great nation of ours that will take you back a few years. We wanted to showcase some of these cities right here so that others can get a glimpse of why we enjoy those Old Days Past! Come on... come join us.
Teague , Texas is a small town about 2 hours south of Dallas down Interstate 45. I would recommend to take highway 179 west and it'll take you right into the heart of the city. For us, we came across this town by chance. On our way from Galveston to Dallas there happened to be an accident on I 45 North that caused us the deviate from our course. As with any old towns, I get excited and usually stop to take a few photos and see if theirs anything unique about it. Don't get me wrong, each town have its own special history about it, but usually you can find at least one thing that knocks it out of the park. Well, I found it in this little town. There is a railroad museum called B-RI Railroad Museum therailroadmuseum.com , and we almost missed it. I just happened to see this train to my left as we were leaving town. We were going slow so we made a left and pulled into the front of the museum. I got out of the car and walked up to the train and started taking a couple of photos. About that time an older gentleman came out of the museum and greeted me. I told him that this was an awesome train but figured the museum was closed. Just heads up, you do have to wear a mask and you do have to social distance before entering. Anyway, he said would you like to come in, we are open. So we went in and there sat two other gentlemen and boy did they have a wealth of knowledge on their town and the railroad. But not only that, this place was full of history. I'm not sure if I could physically go through this two story building in a day and say that I seen everything. I would say that this town and this museum is definitely a gem. And there's one more nugget to this story. There are also two more small towns within a 10 mile block. Mexia and Wortham. Both of these towns have rich history as well. If your looking to spend a weekend to go history hunting, there are hotels in the area. Definitely a place to take an excursion on the less traveled raods.

This nice little town is a true blast from the past. It is in the Tar Heel State of North Carolina. This special little town requires you to drive in on horseback... not in a car!
